Boldmere Futures Partnership, requested support from the Planning for Real Unit, to help them to run a number of Community Planning events in order to seek the views of residents about how Boldmere might develop over the coming years and to develop a prioritised Action Plan which will in turn become a Community Plan. They wanted these events to be interactive and participative and felt that the Planning for Real process would be a great way of achieving this aim. A 3D model, coloured coded flags, pin boards, and a cloth “brick wall” were used to enable residents to put their suggestions forward. Following training in the process, the Boldmere Futures Partnership members and volunteers supported the delivery of 3 Planning for Real community events. The Unit has also provided the group with training in the later stages of the Planning for Real process, Prioritisation and Action Planning, to enable them to take forward all the views they gathered through their consultation days.
